Arrival in Visby the once medieval metropolis of the Baltic sea
Check-in at the hotel Visby Börs and we stayed in the suit of Ellen and Jonny
A visit to the botanical garden
which was nice
but kind of dangerous
Discovering Visby
View from the town wall
Evening in the harbour with a slightly modern touch
The most inspiring meeting point in the Nordic region - but nobody was there...
We went to the Prison to have a drink instead. The last prisoner was released in 1998
This is how it looks in the daytime, the former prison which now is a hostel and promises you a unique stay!
We did the walk on the "Väktargången" along the best preserved town wall in northern Europe
Standing in front of the Norderport which was the former main entrance to the town
and today is used to enter the town by car
Kruttornet (the Gunpowder Tower) is the oldest tower in the city wall
We strolled around in the city center and saw the steeples of the Sankta Maria Cathedral
which was funded by the fees paid by German ships using the port of Visby
Me and the Gute
A visit to the Medieval Market is a must if you have the possibility which we had
Next day we left Visby through Österport and took a bus and ferry to
Fårö
We saw the moonrise in Bastia from the toproof of Hotel Port Toga where we spent one night
Early next morning we drove up to Cap Corse and on the way we spotted Ile Russe
Prepared for a walk
to the top
A Corsican lizzard came and said hello
Am I looking in the right direction?
We continued our roadtrip alongside the coast
which was beautiful
The roadtrip day ended in Saint Florent and we were lucky to get a room in the hotel La Roya
and we started our stay there with a lunch in the sun to celebrate my birthday
